Project Details

NewX is an ecommerce startup based in central Shanghai, selling fashionable European to the Chinese and Western expat market.

A young company that needed to appeal to a young, design-savvy generation of consumers, it was my job to build our tone of voice and brand guidelines for both our English and Chinese copy from scratch, and populate the website with English content. This involved writing over 300 engaging, SEO optimised product descriptions, DR adverts, email copy, and blog posts.

As I was the only English speaker in the office, there was also a strong emphasis on the UX and micro-copy.  I wrote all navigational copy, call-to-actions, and decided on the final taxonomny, working with Chinese copywriters to ensure all copy was translated into Chinese.
